At Brody Brothers Pest Control, our technicians are experienced in identifying pests, detecting their hiding places, and creating customized pest control plans that keep pest problems under control.
Today’s pest control industry has become an important part of the quality of life in a community and contributes to the health of its residents. At Brody Pest Control, we’ve lived and worked with our Maryland neighbors for more than 30 years as a family-owned and operated company that’s now being led by a second generation of pest control specialists. We pride ourselves on the connections to our local communities that other companies don’t have.

Over the decades, we fine-tuned our pest control services to meet the specific needs of homeowners and businesses owners in our area. These include:

It’s a common misconception that professional pest control only makes sense when you see bugs crawling around. The reality is that the most effective pest control for your home is regularly scheduled service focused on treating the exterior of your home.

Why? Because pests, even if you don’t see them, are always active on your property and seeking a way inside. In addition, our recurring service does more than just take care of any momentary problems: It establishes and maintains a barrier around your home that’s working 24/7. Regular appointments also let our technicians identify and respond to pest problems in their earliest stages, keeping them from becoming big problems.
The safety of your family and pets has long been a priority at Brody Brothers Pest Control. Rather than using the indiscriminate spraying methods of yesterday, we take great care to properly apply the products we use and to use only the ones you really need.

We do carry a large selection of organic and natural pest control products that we’re glad to offer our customers when it’s the right solution for their unique pest problems. We focus on using the lowest-risk, least toxic products to minimize your family’s and pet’s exposure while still effectively taking care of the issue.
By the time you see several live, scurrying pests in your home, you’ve probably already missed some signs of a problem. These signs include droppings, wings or body parts, small piles of chewed paper or cardboard, bits of wood dust, and damage to wood or other materials in your home.

Call us if you see pests or their telltale signs, and consider signing up for recurring quarterly service—we’ll inspect your home during appointments to look for additional signs of pest activity. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has some good advice: Look for value and quality. Don’t make a decision based solely on price: Take the time to learn about a pest control company’s experience and competency. Find out how long the company has been in business and ask for references or online pest control reviews.

Also make sure that the company has licensed and certified technicians, and keep in mind that the improper application of pesticides can damage both health and property. Your choice of a pest control company to protect your home and family is important!
We created our Home Protection Plan to offer our customers the most effective, comprehensive pest control service and a great value. The plan covers the most commonly seen pests, including roaches, ants, bees and wasps, spiders, rodents and more. Our Home Protection Plan service starts with an initial inspection, extermination of any existing pest problems, and pest-proofing treatments. We then come out once every quarter to maintain the pest barrier around your home and immediately address any problems we detect. The plan also includes emergency pest control service, termite inspections, and much more. Contact us online if you have any questions or would like to sign up for our ultimate pest protection plan or give us a call at 410-653-2121 (Baltimore region) or 301-637-0178 (Montgomery County).

The EPA defines Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as “an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices.” It’s a smart, thoughtful approach that takes into consideration the full life cycles of pests in the development of a customized pest control solution that delivers the most effective long-term pest prevention.

The IPM method is proactive rather than reactive, which lets us stay ahead of problems before they occur and reduces the use of chemicals over time. It’s also targeted to our customers’ individual pest problems, so there are no unnecessary or one-size-fits-all treatments. Brody Brothers’ proven IPM experience is an excellent program for keeping your home or business pest-free.
The combination of our expert pest control services and our customers doing what they can to make their homes and property uninviting to pests is the best of all worlds. There are specific actions that should be taken for each type of pest we have in Maryland, but in general, these steps can go a long way toward keeping pest problems at a minimum:
  • Seal entry points into your home: Regularly check doors and windows for gaps, cracks and crevices and promptly repair them
  • Remove sources of water: Most pests are seeking water and even a few drops will do. Keep faucets in good repair, wipe counters dry, and empty your pet’s water bowl for the night
  • Store food in airtight containers: A loosely closed bag in your pantry is an irresistible invitation to pests. Transfer cereals, pasta and other pantry foods into tightly sealed containers or use a food-sealing machine
  • Keep the kitchen clean: A few crumbs here and there are enough to attract bugs and rodents, many of which can easily squeeze into the tightest spaces in and around appliances to get to them
  • Stay neat outside: Around the exterior of your house, make sure to keep branches, mulch, wood piles and all debris away from your home’s foundation and roof. Don’t give pests a “bridge” that leads right into your home
  • Empty standing water in your yard: If mosquitoes are a problem, the most important thing you can do to keep their population down is to remove as much standing water as possible. These biting insects need only a bit of water in which to lay their eggs, so check your property closely for water in less obvious places, such as toys, leaf and wood piles, and even holes in trees
Yes! There’s a variety of wood-destroying insects in Maryland, with termites among them.

The species we encounter most often is the Eastern Subterranean Termite, a particularly destructive insect that, if left unchecked, can cause extensive and costly damage to your home. If you suspect that you have termites, or simply want the peace of mind of knowing that you don’t, call our expert termite technicians. We will inspect your home and, if needed, develop a customized termite control plan that takes care of the current termite colonies and helps prevent future infestations.
